Songs and Stories

 of our National Parks

Songs and Stories of Our National Parks is a collaboration between award-winning storyteller and National Park Ranger Gary Bremen and Florida's Historian-in-Song Grant Livingston. Together they tell stories and sing about our National Parks – America's best idea!

Celebrate a century of history guided by Gary's personal tales of national parks across the nation, including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Gettysburg, Mammoth Cave, Selma, Stonewall, Biscayne, and Yosemite National Park. Grant accompanies Gary's narrative with folk songs of the times and his own original songs.

A National Park Ranger for thirty-three years, Gary Bremen is a writer, speaker and storyteller whose work has appeared in national magazines, on television, radio and podcasts. Singer-Songwriter Grant Livingston has been a Florida favorite since the mid-eighties. A cross between Jimmy Buffett and Sesame Street, Grant was recently named one of the "Ten Greatest South Florida Folksingers of All Time.”

Among other venues this show has been presented at Yosemite National Park, Biscayne National Park, the Coral Gables Museum, and the Seminole Theater in Homestead. One story from Songs and Stories of National Parks shows was chosen for The Moth podcast and has been downloaded over one million times. Click to see this story:
